"living in resilience where every day is enjoyable"
The project is located in Saraburi province by the Pasak river which suffered from several severe floods, especially in 2011 and 2022. The design aims to create a resilient place where occupants can enjoy every day. The house is elevated above the highest floodwater level whereas the landscape plays with different transition levels which are useable in different flood situations. Furthermore, the flexible outdoor spaces allow adaptation to new functions with low maintenance if occurred future floods. The house and landscape are carefully designed to ensure the well-being of the people for the whole day, suitable for all activities, and resilient at all times to be not only a vacation house but an everyday enjoyable home.
RESILIENT WITH THE SUN
The axonometric shows the relationship between lifestyle activities and the sun. The design aims to provide spaces for different functions to avoid the sun‘s heat so that the occupants can live comfortably full day.
RESILIENT WITH TIME
The axonometric shows how the land can be developed through time. The design aims to provide flexibility so that the spaces can be adapted easily with low cost and maintenance.
RESILIENT WITH WATER
The axonometric shows the water level according to the flood history. To live with water, we create different land levels to mitigate the impacts of the flood and are still usable for different flood situations.
